Metal Laser Cutter Parts

Machine Used: Fablight Metal Laser Cutter

Testbed Bracket

The bracket was cut out of 0.06" carbon steel and then bent with a sheet metal brake.

Bracket attached to Slider and Exo Hip

The bracket is attached to the slider on the square beam, as well as holding the hip portion of the exoskeleton leg, while also propping up the leg so it remains approximately parallel to the beam.

Heel Footplate

Cut out of 0.06" carbon steel and bent on a sheet metal brake.

Heel Footplate in position

The footplate made up the portion of the Exoskeleton that touched the ground, and had a polyurethane cushion glued to the bottom to minimize damage to flooring and noise.

Miscellaneous Parts

The parts labeled 1 and 2 were cut out of 6061 aluminum at a thickness of 0.125", and made up the vertical portions of the exoskeletal ankle.

The stack of parts labeled with 4 made up the two sides of each foot section of the exoskeleton. The slots were designed to allow for webbing to run through and buckle to the foot.

The bottom two pieces are the heel foot plates from above, before bending.

The top right pieces are the brackets that surrounded the calf of the ankle portion of the exoskeleton, before bending.
